Act One beginners to the stage, please!

The lines have been learnt… The audience has been seated… The scene is set for a spectacular professional-quality production performed by Academy students, as their talent and new skills shine through!

This will be the scene 3 times a year, every year, for your child at Academy.

Each term, the students will work together every Saturday morning with the qualified coaches towards a performance of the piece of drama they have explored.  Over the weeks of rehearsal, games and exercises, not only will they develop their confidence and stage presence,  they will gain a huge amount of knowledge and skill regarding the acting profession.

Academy caters for any child wishing to perform drama to an audience!  A certain amount of effort is required from Academy students, not only to learn their lines and take direction, but also to work co-operatively as a team on their projects.  We provide high quality drama tuition with qualified, enthusiastic drama coaches who focus on elements of acting such as speech & diction, physicality and characterisation.  The children will constantly be putting these skills into action as they rehearse a different play every term, each being taken to a different venue to provide the children with an audience to display their first-rate acting skills.

Academy will take place every Saturday for 2 hours in:

The Drama Rooms at Hounsdown School, Totton

Ages 6 – 10 from 9:30am to 11:30pm.

Ages 11 – 16 from 11:45am to 1:45pm.

The Dance Studio at Toynbee School, Chandler’s Ford

Ages 7 – 13 from 11:45am to 1:45pm.
